A winter day out on the Maine coast

Winter is not all lugging firewood and shoveling snow. Over the last few days we've had a warm stretch today it was actually in the 40s. Argy and I took the day off and drove down to Acadia National Park. Not the part that you all think of; rather the Schoodic peninsula. This part of the park is not on Mount Desert Island it is on the mainland and much less visited.

Winter Just Seems to Drag on this year

It has been several years since we had deep cold for any length of time. All of us are asking when will winter be over. Wood piles are shrinking rapidly, and we are all wondering when warmer days will come. For the record on these cold days, I bring in 25 sticks of firewood for each stove and will need the same amount tomorrow. Still, this is Maine and the weather could change at any moment.

Sometimes you work hard but are no further ahead

Most of the last week was spent attempting to get a new computer at the heart of Maine outdoors. It was fascinating because of my interactions with various customer service entities. I am also renewing my U.S. Coast guard license a once every 5 year activity. All with a range of customer service contact and positive feeling.
