This morning we woke to a few inches of frosting on everything. Even the toy soldier who guards the front door for the holidays. The wet early snow clung to everything from soldiers to the tiniest branches. With little wind overnight or even during the day the snow hung on. This was a nice little storm, no wind, not too cold and it melted off of the roads quickly after the plows went by making for easy travel.
At the end of the season, I like to take a minute to reflect on how fortunate I have been. The thing that I am proudest of is the firsts that I have been able to assist. Usually, a first fish or the first of some species or a skill like the first cast with a fly rod. After all these years I wish I had kept track of them.
