I see many newly minted guides online these days and want to congratulate each one for their perseverance and knowledge. The process has become more standardized in the roughly 40 years since I first got my license but no less daunting, Well done to each of you and proud to have you join our ranks. You have demonstrated a knowledge of Maine’s environment, fish, wildlife, and safety considerations that only a few possess.
This winter there is time in the schedule to offer a few ice fishing trips. These trips will take place on beautiful frozen local lakes, where participants can try their hand at catching a variety of fish such as bass, perch, crappie and pike.
This morning the sun rose as far to the south as it travels each year. The solstice and the end of the year are just weeks away. The weather is as you would hope for December; cold with snow in the forecast. I am spending my time on the usual small business tasks for the end of the year and as part of that I have been catching up on the reviews from the last year.
