Drawing a crowd today

The neighbor farm is raising Belted Galloways as local beef. If you do not know they are black or brown with a white stripe (or belt) around the middle. An old breed that does well in our area and have been made a little famous by the herd down in Rockport that gets their picture taken frequently; the Oreo cookie cows so to speak.

November Fishing Report

Who would have imagined that the weather in November was so nice that I would want to do a fishing report. It has been that nice and the fishing is worth talking about. In the last few days I have fished on Seven Tree Pond here in Union and Megunticook Lake in Camden. Bass were cooperative in both and all of a nice size. The pickerel are pretty active and the pike in Seven Tree as well.

The Seasons End is Getting Close

I’m getting close to the end of the season. Not yet over for me but getting close enough to think about the early winter chores. The sunrise is now far enough to the south that we see it from the house and today’s was spectacular. I have a few more reservations but by Thanksgiving it is usually too chilly to fish comfortably, but this week is forecast to be in the 60’s every day and not too cold at night.
