Today felt spring like. Warmish (ok 40 degrees) windy with bright sunshine the ice on the ponds is getting dark indication that the warm water below is working on it. It got me thinking about the coming season. So I registered the Lund Alaskan and the Sequoia and began to work on my fly rod order from Orvis for the coming season.

A couple of incidents this week pointed out to me that the total lack of respect for small service businesses like mine is unchanged in thirty plus years. My prices went up this year for the first time in a long while which means changing prices on the web, in my software and of course my brochures that are displayed where visitors might find them.

I am asked all the time by clients about the times I had a fish hook in me. Honestly it happens less than you might expect but is always memorable and makes for a good story. It happens most frequently when someone catches a very small fish on a lure with treble hooks. The fish is small and there is no time wasted getting it to the boat and the small size means no net. So it is hoisted into the air for me to unhook and is very lively.
