Fall is here! The leaves are changing, mornings are cool and I am down to the last fishing trips of my season. For the record there are opens slots in my calendar during last week of September and around Columbus Day in early October. The rest of my fall is already spoken for so if you are thinking of taking a trip with the best of the Maine weather and spectacular scenery now is the time!

I had just left the North Maine Woods after a brief scouting trip before guiding grouse and woodcock hunters for Libby Camps next month. I was filling the Sequoia with gas and the woman on the other side of the pump who I do not know says to me “what a great business to be in”.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Travel Writer Sherry Ott of Otts World on Saturday.  Sherry had not fished since she was a kid and wanted to experience what Maine has to offer. The weather could not have been more cooperative perfect blue skies, a few clouds for effect and not a lot of wind. The fish on the other hand were not nearly as cooperative.
