No denying it now

Fall is here! The leaves are changing, mornings are cool and I am down to the last fishing trips of my season. For the record there are opens slots in my calendar during last week of September and around Columbus Day in early October. The rest of my fall is already spoken for so if you are thinking of taking a trip with the best of the Maine weather and spectacular scenery now is the time!

Water temperatures have stayed warmer than usual with the surface temperature this morning at an even 70 degrees. Still the fish know what is coming and have started to feed heavily before they are surrounded with cold water and ice. My trip this morning produced a few very nice bass of over 3 pounds.

These cooler mornings also tend to be foggy. Today the fog was so thick that even the eagles seemed to not want to leave the perch.
