The last fishing trip of the 2013 season was yesterday. A father and son excursion that we hoped would be a great time. This late in the fall I schedule trips for mid-day to take advantage of the warmer 
temperatures and we started at 11. The day before I fished the lake to see what our prospects might be and was delighted. I found pods of rainbow trout on the surface in several locations.
October is always a very busy month and while September provides great variety October is very much one thing. Yes I guide a few 
fishing trips usually early in the month and the rest is dedicated to chasing grouse and woodcock on upland bird hunts with the dogs.
Spectacular Day!
I was scheduled to work in the office today in anticipation of a very busy October and November. The day was nearly perfect though. Little wind, not a cloud (after the fog burned off in the morning) and 
some nice color on the trees.
