Getting Ready for Next Season

This week is given to cleaning and repairing the equipment that makes my life as a guide possible. The Sequoia is being thoroughly cleaned inside and out after spending a month on dirt roads in the North Maine Woods. It will also be in the shop for a day for annual maintenance. The Lund Alaskan is getting its annual overhaul and tune up so that it will be ready to go as soon as the ice leaves the local ponds next spring.

Equal time

Last week I posted a photo of Blue pointing a woodcock and felt a little bad that Rocky my other English Pointer did not have a similar photo opp. Well only a few days went by and this one presented itself. Rocky in an intense point and if you look carefully you can see the grouse under the little fir tree on the other side of the road. Hard to imagine that I got both photos in less than a week.
