Early summer update

First a fishing report. On the saltwater the striper fishing has been noting short of amazing. Good numbers of fish from 16 to 24 inches most days and tides. I have seen a few big fish go by but nothing on the end of a line yet. As always I prefer the last couple of hours of the outgoing tide but most days it does not seem to matter and the flats at high tide have been dependable.

If you care

Leave them there! That is the tagline from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife about young animals in the spring. To make that point. This morning I was on my way to a boat launch and saw Hiding Whitetail Fawna deer just off of the side of the road. She clearly did not want to leave as I approached and when she did leave did not go far. A couple of easy hops into the woods.
