I am heading to the Governor’s Conference on Tourism tomorrow. At the conference Registered Maine Guides will be recognized for 115 years of excellent customer service.

The Wildlife Research Foundation is a group formed to increase our knowledge of the wildlife that is so important to the Maine economy. They have been able to install a web camera in a remote bear den in Northern Maine that allows all of us to watch the mother and newborn cubs (January 16^th) in the den. Take a look.

The warm winter had started to feel a little unnatural. Our daytime temperatures were in the forties during the day and rarely going below twenty at night. While easy on the firewood supply it simply did not feel like winter in Maine. All of that has changed at least for the time being. We had snow on Thursday; not a lot but six or so inches followed by freezing rain on Friday that made travelling to Portland with Argy an adventure.
