The new decade started off mild. After some small snow storms and a couple of bigger ones we at least have snow on the ground. Good thing; I bought new snowshoe bindings and was fearing that they would not be needed this winter.
This is New England after all just wait a minute and the weather pattern changes. A saying that I am certain the forecasters would agree since they have been plenty wrong this winter. I have been thinking about how long ago I did most of my own forecasting by tapping the barometer, looking out the window and reading a tide chart. Now it is all internet and satellite based but I am not sure any better.
Winter is meeting season for me as the executive director of the Maine Professional Guides Association. Things are really ramping up now but it looks like I will be ready to start fishing again in early May. As much fun as my winter can be I am already looking forward to being back on the water with you.
Reservations are already starting to come in for the summer and the popular weeks are starting to fill. Lets make a plan to spend some time on the water together.
