Windy and Cool October Fishing

Yesterday I guided a pair of anglers on Megunticook Lake in Camden. After last Friday’s rain the lake has come up a full eighteen inches and the water temperature fell five degrees. A strong west wind blew at times up to thirty miles per hour. Needless to say fishing was slow! Still with persistence and willing anglers we were able to put maybe ten in the boat. The new trolling motor on the Lund Alaskan held its own all day in the wind; needless to say fishing without it would have been nearly impossible in that wind.

The big news was the near perfect foliage and crystal blue skies. The pictures simply do not give an complete picture of how beautiful the day was. One of those days when you look around and realize how fortunate you are to be here! I still have about a month of fishing left in this season why don't you join me?
