I have been invited to present at the LL Bean Hunting Expo being held at the Freeport store on August 27th to 29th this year. My topic is “Where do I Find My Own Grouse & Woodcock Hot Spots in Maine?” After almost a quarter century working as an upland hunting guide in Maine I have some thoughts and opinions that might be interesting. My presentation will be on Sunday the 29th at Noon in the Camping Atrium of the Flagship Store.
During the last few winters March was definitely a winter month with lots of snow and cold; not this one it is pleasant and warm so far. We have had a couple of days in the 50’s with pleasant sunshine. Most; but not all of our snow is gone; it can’t last much longer though. Seems like spring is here in a hurry this year. I am very ready to get back into the swing of guiding nature exploration and fishing trips. Of course there are still a fair number of days until the weather is consistently warm and pleasant enough for that.
Tuesday I had the opportunity to present to a class on ecotourism at the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor. I was asked to talk about the realities of running a small business that is focused on outdoor recreation.
