Scenic Maine Coast Boat Trip and Eagle Watching

Blog Tags:

Monday afternoon found me with clients on a boat tour of the lower Saint George River. The weather was perfect! As you can see we had a light breeze from the west clear blue skies and enough clouds to make it interesting. Temperatures were pleasant too.

I toured down the river to Port Clyde first where we saw seals in good numbers, harbor porpoises and a very cooperative eagle. The clients showed up with the same GoPro video camera that I use and we used my bow mount with the trolling motor removed. Partway through the trip their camera stopped working an mine got put in it’s place for a few minutes. This video shows our brief visit to Port Clyde Harbor but mostly shows how pretty the day was.

We then traveled upriver to the head of the tide where we saw many more eagles. Mostly immature birds but a pair of full plumage adults and two of this year’s young. Like the young birds on Seven Tree Pond they just left the nest and are learning to fly (and land). All in all an excellent afternoon on the water.
