Along the way, we’ll have the chance to view the famous Olsen House from Andrew Wyeth’s Christina’s World, along with Andrew Wyeth’s summer home.

My husband and I booked a Guided Scenic Maine Coast Boat Trip with Maine Outdoors for October 2, 2023. Our trip was along the Saint George River. We were familiar with the Saint George from numerous visits to MidCoast Maine, but exploring the river by boat gave us a new appreciation for it! Our three hours on the water were picture-perfect, in a comfortable boat, with Don Kleiner as our excellent guide. Don ensured that our trip was customized to what we wanted to see and, as a hobby photographer, what images I wanted to capture. Not only is Don gregarious and great fun to be with, but he is also extremely knowledgeable about the area's geography, flora, fauna, and history. During our trip, he pointed out several species of waterfowl and some seals, showed us the Wyeth properties along the river, took us into some picturesque coves, and even got us up close to a bald eagle. It was great to get a different perspective from the water of so many sights that we normally see on land, including Marshall Point Light and Port Clyde. (It was devastating to see the aftermath of the recent Port Clyde fire.) Would I recommend Don for an outdoor Maine adventure? Absolutely! Next year we plan to book a trip with Don around Megunticook Lake to see the early fall colors. We're already looking forward to it!
