A couple of weeks ago Argy spent some time in Little Deer Isle. I drove up for dinner one evening which was delightful and delicious. I had a commitment the next day and left right before sunset. Heading home I drove over Caterpillar Hill in Sedgewick where I was surprised by this sunset view. Granted pretty great.

I know I go on about how delightful this time of year is without much for proof. For proof here is a little video of less than a minute casting flies to feeding bass on a local pond. I know you did not ask but as an aside I have only seen bass push bait to the surface a few times in a long career and this was one of them. I could see the fish feeding from a quarter mile away. Yes it was almost a fish on every cast for almost an hour. Most were small but a few were well over two pounds. All of them gave a decent showing on the fly rod.

September is here, and it feels like the season is gently tapering down. Just last week, I took a family with kids out for what I expect will be the last family fishing trip of the season, and now the kids life vests are stowed away until next summer. My schedule, which has been jam-packed for months, is finally starting to show some openings.
