Update on our solar installation

Been a year since we had solar panels installed along with a battery backup. No issues to report, infact it works silently and takes no time from us to operate.

Here are our results since installation; we generated 85% of our electricity daily surplus was stored in the backup battery (for overnight use or if the grid goes down) or sent to the grid. The app that came with the system tells me that we saved about $1500 in that time. In the spring summer and early fall our power bill is simply the connection fee for attaching to the grid.

More important to us though was that the power went off 13 times in that year for as much as an hour. On our end we simply could not tell that it was off; ever! A huge improvement for sure and no generator noise.

A little quick math tells me that the system will have paid for itself completely in 20 years. As good as we could have hoped for.
