Some of us were wondering if summer would ever arrive but this week it's here in spades. We had our first day over 100° in quite some time. As I'm sure many of you in the eastern half of the United states did as well.
Two things worked to make this more bearable 1st there's an air conditioner in the office so I have a place to hide at the end of a long day can we put a second one in the main part of the house to cool it off at night so we can sleep. What a difference that makes.
The other is that with the installation of our solar on the roof of the garage last fall even while using the air conditioning the monthly electric bill has fallen to 27 dollars pretty Gol darn bearable if you ask me. Certainly not free but quite acceptable.
All in all I managed to survive it nicely and I'm delighted to report that we're back to normal summer weather warm during the day cool at night had a pleasant sea breeze in the afternoon actually pretty hard to complain.
With any luck this weather pattern will be what we have for the rest of the summer. A person can dream can't he?
Hopefully you're planning to come up and enjoy some of that beautiful summer weather with us. As an added bonus eagles have been around on every family fishing trip and a unique sighting of one of this years eaglets (now mostly full grown) standing on the side of the river yesterday. Seeing one at eye level gives you a real appreciation for just how big they are.
