Another big snowstorm formed out at sea over the weekend. We were not close enough to get a lot of snow instead we got wind! Even now a day later the wind is still up moaning through the trees making this bright sunny day seem frigid. I built a fire in the fireplace and settled in to do a little reading when this article in Mid Current shows up about fishing for Maine smallmouth bass. While not specifically about the Camden Rockland area much of it is true about my fishing trips on the Saint George River and most of our lakes and ponds.
Good information from a respected writer and now I am so ready for spring and guiding smallmouth bass fly fishing trips. Even though the temperatures are in the teens, thee wind is howling and there is a foot and a half of snow on the ground I am thinking about gliding the Lund Alaskan along the edge of a lake while clients make near perfect casts to willing fish! Now if the ice and snow would just melt and let me get started. The month of May will be here soon!
