A Weather Station of my very own!

After wanting a weather station for most of my life I have one on the roof of the office. I worked a good part of the day getting everything installed and hooked up. I had some trouble getting the barometer to work but was able to get it work after exchanging e-mails with customer service. They were actually of no help but did get me thinking on the right path to helping myself. The weather station was a gift from my sons and it is a great feeling to have one.

I have worked outdoors in a variety of settings over the years and have always wanted to know the actual conditions. Now I can simply look up from my desk and see how hard the wind is blowing and what direction it is coming from. Not to mention the temperature and humidity inside and out. Of course I will have to be inside to see it but it will be great to know the current conditions as I head out for a day of fishing. Not to mention that we have had no wind to speak of since I put it up! I am sure that we will have some soon.

I have been reading the World is Flat and thinking about how to take advantage of my extended reach in an extended economy. Hitslink and Google now offer web tracking that makes it easy to see that some of my visitors are from places very far away. I am wondering how to take advantage of that opportunity. After all I offer a service unique in the entire world. While I do have several clients from England and a few from other countries around the world I think that there must be a way to connect with more of them in the future.
