Last week a group of us went to Millinocket where we rented snowmobiles from the New England Outdoor Center planning to ride through Baxter State Park and return. This trip was perfect with lots of snow in the park and excellent riding conditions. 
In fact it made me think about the opportunities that there might be to guide similar trips to areas with excellent scenery that are easier to visit on a snowmobile. We had light snow through most of the afternoon and temperatures were pleasant. I am surprised at how comfortable and easy to operate the modern snowmobile is.
I went on a similar adventure in 2009 but we were not able to find the trails we needed on that trip. This trip went without a hitch and I am already looking forward to a repeat.
