Snow Showers

Early this morning (it was still dark) I was in the kitchen making coffee when my morning newspaper was delivered. We had a hard rain overnight and I thought that it was still raining lightly. I looked out the window and at first thought boy those are big raindrops, then wow the wind is really blowing those raindrops around and then it clicked. Snowing hard, big wet flakes.

I am sure this morning’s event will not leave much behind. Everything is wet and the temperature is still warm (38) so we will be spared any serious accumulation. But as is the case every year Thanksgiving marks a turn in the weather. We are forecast to have strong northwesterly winds for a day or two and the temperatures will struggle to make it into the 40s in the coming week. Just like that winter is here.

I always count on a few warm days in early December but from here on out cold and snow will be part of any outdoor plans. Glad that I got the Lund Alaskan covered and put away last week and looking forward to being able to work in the office on the coldest days ahead.
