This morning was slower fishing than I have had the rest of the week in three hours only a dozen fish but a couple of nicer fish in the bunch. I think the slow fishing was due in part to being near the slack high tide. I have always had better luck on lower tides. We’ll see what happens on tomorrow mornings tide. The gulls are hanging around on the likely ledges waiting for the stripers to chase the bait to the surface so I know that the baitfish are still around and there are stripers to chase them to the surface. Eternal optimisim!
Funny how things come in spurts, yesterday the phone and e-mail went crazy and I was booking trips right and left. Today almost nothing and in fact I had one of those trips cancel. Go figure. The next couple of weeks are very busy but with enough time open to accommodate a few more trips or to allow me some time to get a little desk work done.
