Ready for the season

I spent a good part of this afternoon getting things out in anticipation of the coming season. Not everything to be sure, the busy part of the year is still a ways off, the detail items that make things flow. Fresh batteries in the GPS, go over the first aid kit, make sure there are matches in my match safe. I also put some retail items in the Yukon so that they will be handy if needed.

The items for a snowshoe or Intro to birdwatching trip are now handy and ready to use. I also put my packbasket and a couple of pairs of snowshoes in. With the long afternoons and pleasant evenings this month I want to be prepared for a quick outing when the opportunity presents itself. Camden’s premier Inns are offering a package that includes those trips so every weekend could be busy for the next couple of months.

I was in Suffern, NY last week and early this week for the World Fishing and Outdoor Exposition. My role was to represent the Midcoast region at the display put on by the State Office of Tourism. I thought that it all went very well and I had the chance to talk with many folks planning a Maine vacation this summer. Hopefully they are all coming to visit!
