Finally some winter weather.

We woke up this morning to a dusting of snow and a temperature near zero. Fortunately there is little wind to make it feel colder. The sunrise was obscured through the clouds that form over the warm ocean water when it is cold. The forecast is for a real snowstorm over the weekend so just maybe winter is going to make an appearance this year.

The dogs spent the night in the house where it is warmer than the kennel and are still inside enjoying the luxury of laying on the tile floor by the wood stove. Eventually they get too hot and move away but for now they are both close.

This has been a busy week working on several issues for the Maine Bowhunters Association. I also had a meeting of the board for the Maine Conservation School and today will be working with the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine on their online magazine for kids project. Busy to be sure but it is great to be doing work that I think matters. Much better than last year when I spent the winter tearing around New England for the Ruffed Grouse Society fundraising for a group that has having much conservation impact in this region.

It is funny how working harder for less money can be more rewarding at the end of the day. Not to mention the luxury of working on issues in Maine.
