Perch fishing is at its peak!
I have had several family fishing trips this week and can safely report that the perching is as good as it gets. Yesterday it was a fish a cast for a good part of the afternoon under perfect blue skies as you can see.

August seems to be the month of family perch fishing trips, yes I do other trips to be sure but for some reason the perching seems to bunch up in August. It is always a lot of fun and if I do it right we will have the school of fish close to the boat where we can all see the fish gathered around the bait waiting to take a turn biting the hook.
There is a lot to see especially if you take the time out to look. I was mackerel fishing last week and there were small hawks of some sort in the spruce trees on the closest island. I commented that I saw those birds each August and have never taken the time to figure out what they were. That was enough to get me to get out a pair of binoculars from under the console in the boat.
