It is raining this morning but we have been spared the heavy rain that fell south of Portland. In fact we had sun and wind most of the time that they were having all of that rain. It’s weird to think that only seventy five miles away the difference could be so drastic. With the stripers still headed up the coast I hope that all of that fresh water will not discourage them in their journey to visit with my clients.
I recieved these pictures and story from Maynard Stanley of Owls Head yesterday. Maynard is an Animal Damage Control agent, has his own outdoor TV production company and produces special effect for events. You can see what he does at http://www.midcoast.com/~fxdesign/ This a great story and the pictures are fabulous:
Just a quick report. I got a call from a friend working on one of the oyster farms in the Damariscotta River to tell me that a school of stripers was chasing bait all around him yesterday on the going tide. No doubt about it they are here, he is someone who knows what he is seeing. The Damariscotta is to the west of me for sure but not very far. I can’t get on the river today (meetings!) but plan to be on the Saint George tomorrow morning to confirm the fact. Let the season begin!
