I have been down to the mouth of the Saint George several times over the last couple of weeks with clients and almost every time the fishing has been 
outstanding. We have caught a bunch of fish (the biggest a couple of pounds) that are very sporty on light tackle. The best part is the scenery, we are fishing among the islands off of the coast and most mornings the air is still.
After all of the rain we have had all of our lakes and ponds are very high. Some like Seven Tree in Union are up feet rather than inches because of the river flow. 
In these conditions I like to fish the lakes higher up in their watersheds or on small watersheds that seem to suffer fewer effects.
Our current stretch of weather has been very wet that is for sure. A friend who raises strawberries in Warren reported 3.5 inches of rain in 24 hours and an apple farmer in Southern Maine reported over 23 inches of rain for June so far. All we can do is hope that it is not a repeat of the summer of 2009 that was an almost total wash out.
