A First
Being a guide is something that I truly enjoy and it even brings a certain level of notoriety. This season the notoriety has risen to a new level for me.

When I meet one of you at a boat launch I always allow extra travel time to get there ahead of you. Most of the time the extra 15 or 20 minutes is not needed and I have a few minutes to fish. Never far from the launch and mostly to see what fly or lure might work and where fish might be feeding.
The last few days have been spectacular. Perfect Maine autumn weather and the best part is it appears that no one else is taking advantage of it. When fishing on some of my ponds it is normal to be the only boat on the lake but this morning Megunticook in downtown Camden was deserted. After seeing no one all morning there were three kayaks near the boat launch and another boat getting ready to go. Simply amazing!
