Union's 250th Birthday!

Union BandStand On Union CommonAlmost feels like spring here today! Windy, foggy with temperatures around 50 degrees. The end of winter is in sight, but spring has not arrived to stay. To prove the point; the wind is supposed to switch back to the north tonight and temperatures will plummet. Well it is coming.

In the interest of mentioning what else there is to do in the area this summer. Argy has been working on the planning of Union’s 250 Celebrating Union's 250 years for the past 10 months. The actual date is July 2024. Tracy Scott’s husband Mike Weed built a float, replica of Union’s Bandstand that is amazing! Been in Waldoboro 250th Anniversary parade and Thomaston’s 4th of July parade and will be in the upcoming Lobster Festival parade. Maine Outdoors paid for wooden nickels that we’re giving out. An amazing logo designed by Alyssa Willey that will be used on t-shirts, and hats. The towns Sestercentennial Committee has about 30 activities planned, some will take place during the year culminating on the weekend of July 19, 20, 2, 2024! Please follow and like Celebrating Union’s 250 Years on Facebook. Then add the weekend’s events to your July plans.
