Sometimes we just get lucky. These fish took a lure offered by someone who had been fishing for less than an hour; was fishing at an odd angle to the boat and was bringing in the lure differently than I would have advised. As you can see nice prizes for even an experienced angler, don’t worry I was full of advice on handling the rod until I had them in the net.
I spend a lot of my time in the summer guiding and working with beginning anglers. From kids on family fishing trips to folks trying fishing for the first time they are all just learning the skills that make fishing great lifelong hobby. Because many clients are new to fishing I am usually focused on getting the new anglers their first fish and having a great experience than worrying about a trophy. In spite of where my attention is sometimes things just work out.
