Foggy morningWhile my season is transitioning from summer to fall there is a comforting sameness to that transition. I am busy trying to get the dogs (and me) into the woods each day for some exercise, fishing on foggy mornings with changing leaves in the background and regular clients who appreciate this time of year like I do.

This morning was very foggy and the “pickerel panic” was back on. Lots of fish to the boat including a few of size; a pike yesterday had me standing slack jawed after it was gone it took a few minutes to lose that one off of eight pound test tippet. So this morning I geared up a rod with a wire tippet and of course did not get one of those big ones on the end of it. Although I did have one try to take a yellow perch about a foot long off of the line.

I love this time of year and am looking forward to the next few weeks as the transition continues.
