I enjoyed serving

I have been fortunate to have served on the Land for Maine’s Future Program Board since 2018. The Land for Maine's Future Program is the State of Maine's primary funding vehicle for conserving land for its natural and recreational value. From where I sit an important part of Maine’s Conservation efforts. The work has been a pleasure for the most part; something I was glad to fit into my schedule. I completed two terms on the board and am required to step down now. One thing that I am still impressed with is how hard the folks in the natural reseource arena work truly a labor of love and my hat is off to them all. Even when we disagree.

Last year the program was funded out of the state budget and the first round of grants were approved yesterday. Several great projects were funded; you can read about it here. I have truly enjoyed seeing and participating in the nuts and bolts of Maine’s land conservation efforts. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. On the upside a little more of my schedule is cleared for guiding this summer and fall. Maybe even  some time to visit a few of these projects on my days off?
