Saturday morning in the drizzle and fog I guided a canoe trip for a father and his grown daughter. The trip was most enjoyable. I had arranged our direction of travel so the light breeze was at our backs and the paddling was easy with that assistance and the conversation a delight.
We saw loons (including one sitting on a nest), ospreys and even a green heron. We also saw a very cooperative eagle who allowed us to get right under the tree where it perched and take pictures until we had more than enough. We had seen the mate earlier in the trip and that one wanted no part of people in canoes; taking off when we were still a hundred yards away.
So the question is who was actually watching who?
