Today was one of those perfect days we all talk about. No clouds perfect blue sky and little wind. The temperature this morning was 48 degrees with a high of 75 this afternoon, pretty much a perfect day.
How is it fair that some of my clients have had to put up with rain, thunderstorms, fog, heat and wind on trips all summer. Today under perfect conditions I had the morning off to spend fishing by myself. I am so sorry that all of you did not book in the next ten days or so because the weather is scheduled to be perfect! Some did and it looks like they made a great choice.
This morning I spent a few hours bass fishing. The fish were not especially willing to take my flies and I had to change several times before I found the right one. Most of the fish were small but two smallmouth bass were well over two pounds. Big enough to make me wonder if a 5 weight fly rod would hold them.
I am looking forward to the next six weeks, my favorite time of the year!
