What a gorgeous September it's been! We've been soaking up those perfect warm days and crisp, cool nights. In fact, it's a sunny 80∘F as I write this—hard to beat!
However, the extended forecast showing nothing but dry days is unusual and reflects the tough reality: we are in a drought. Our local lakes are much lower than usual, and those of us on wells are certainly starting to worry about water supply if we don't get some rain before the ground freezes. Still, these pleasant, sunny days are a beautiful invitation to get out on the water one last time before the season shifts.
The Current Schedule
I'm happy to report that adjusting my availability has landed me on the perfect schedule for the near future! I'll be guiding a few mornings a week, leaving time for important "other things"—like helping our sons with various projects and, of course, hanging out with our granddaughter.
Firewood, Licenses, and 2024 Pricing
The big fall chore is done: our firewood is in for the winter! It's always a satisfying feeling to have that checked off the list.
Speaking of planning ahead, I wanted to give you notice that I plan to raise my prices starting next year (2024). It has been five years since my last increase, and like everyone, my costs have risen. Not least of which is that Maine freshwater fishing licenses will be rising by $7 each beginning in January.
I am still completely committed to including your license as part of your trip. This helps simplify your time getting on the water while making sure we continue to support the biology and law enforcement that keeps our entire system working!
It looks like the weather will hold for much of October. Don't miss out on seeing Maine at the the best time of the year. You can make a reservation for a trip at this link.
As always come write or call if i can help you create your outdoor memories.
Best regards,
