The unofficial end of summer has passed, and my schedule has begun to enter the relaxed early fall phase. I must admit that I do not miss the rush of trying to get dogs (and myself) in some kind of shape for October at Libby Camps, getting things put away for winter and stacking firewood while guiding this slower schedule. Granted I still need to put stuff away for winter and 4 cords of firewood (actually only 3 as of today) need to get stacked in the garage but it all seems much more manageable now.
My fancy new raingear and the short boots I bought myself last year have seen little use this summer. Like the past few years, we are now in a drought. Water levels are low everywhere. Leaving some of my regular boat launches high and dry while providing a great opportunity for finding rocks in the ponds that I normally glide right over without a thought. Fortunately, the fishing holds up and like at low tide on the saltwater fish have fewer places to hide. Making the time before the snow flies a great opportunity for some enjoyable fishing trips.
The weather is very pleasant with highs around 70 every day with early morning lows in the 50s. Lately we have had pleasant afternoons with white puffy clouds for an accent against the bright blue skies.
Don't miss out on seeing Maine at the the best time of the year. You can make a reservation for a trip at this link. I hope to see each of you before this winter.
As always come write or call if i can help you create your outdoor memories.
Best regards,
