We had the Blizzard of 2022 here like most of you further down the east coast. It was quite a storm with a high on Saturday of around 8 degrees with a stiff northeast wind. Even the dogs did not want to go outside. When all was said and done we had maybe a foot and a half of new snow overnight the wind came around out of the northwest and the temperatures did recover. Because of the low temperatures the snow was light and fluffy easy to shovel and plow. Not to mention it made for some impressive snow piles at the end of the road and around our driveway. It has been few years since we had a snowstorm like that.
Temperatures are still trending cold with lows each morning somewhere around zero. All of this cold has us melting through our woodpile. Luckily, we have a few reserve cords piled right outside the garage within easy reach. However, this is Maine and the weather will change for sure but for the moment we are in the depths of winter and enjoying the snow covered scene along with the ever strengthening sunshine and crystal clear skies. A few more weeks and it will be time to start thinking about making everything ready to get back on the water with you.
