This week marks the unofficial end of my guiding season. Stripers have been gone since mid October, I finished at Libby Camps a few weeks ago and the freshwater fishing has slowed due to water and air temperatures heading down. This is the time to stop and take stock.
Thirty-five years ago I had no idea that Maine Outdoors would be successful only a vision of the possibility. To be sure in that time there has been a lot of change and adaptation. From only canoe trips to now mostly fishing trips and Octobers filled with upland bird hunting trips. I learned a lot that is a fact and still enjoy many great times in the outdoors. Many of those stories are posted to this blog that goes back fifteen years.
Getting closer to the end of that run (I think five more years at least) I am humbled by the number of you who trusted me with some of your precious free time. Many who have been clients almost my entire career. Hard to imagine that I have spent time outdoors with some of you for thirty years or more. Not to mention the number of firsts I have been priveleged to assist in. First fish, first time seeing an eagle, a loon or a seal.
I am very grateful for all of you. Thank you all; the long-time clients to the folks that I saw for only a few hours. None of this would have been possible without your trust and willingness to spend some time outdoors with me.
