Transition to Fall

The leaves are turning and the days noticeably shorter. Here at Maine Outdoors that means switching gears a little. The Lund got a temporary cover this morning to keep the falling leaves out and the dog boxes got loaded into the Sequoia for the coming season. I’ve been working the dogs for about three weeks now when we all had a spare minute. On Wednesday the training is over and the grouse and woodcock season begin.

Here is Rocky my male pointer pointing a woodcock this morning. If I had not zoomed the camera in you would have been able to see the bird on the ground. I did not know until after the camera was away and I moved in to flush the bird. Looking forward to some time at Libby Camps and being outdoors to see the fall color come and go over the next month. not to mention long days with the dogs.
