Wow that was fast! The end of August already!
The summer season is so busy that time just flies by even though I have gone to only working five and a half days most weeks. I turned 69 this month and feel very fortunate to enjoy relatively good health and energy. That makes me sure that I am not stopping anytime soon. Although I am considering going to a five day work week net summer.
So how was the fishing this summer you should ask. Stripers continue to be a disappointment to be sure; there were some great days fishing for them and the size of the fish is impressive but overall the fishery is in clear decline. Sad to watch for sure and frustrating that our fishery managers are simply incapable of figuring out what to do and getting it done for the species.
Freshwater bass fishing continues to be excellent but the surprise of my summer was the pike fishing no it is not a fish a cast but they are coming more frequently. I am not sure if I am getting better at finding them or they are becoming more prevalent. Either way fishing for them has gotten more dependable.
I am looking forward to September and October for the best weather of the year and a slightly slower pace. Not to mention I still have a couple of cords of firewood to stack before snow flies.
Feel free to write or call to make your reservation to create some outdoor memories or make one online here to enjoy some time on the water in the fall season!
Best regards,
