A winter afternoon off!

Folks often ask me what a guide does on his days off. Well today was the perfect winter day; crystal blue skies, fresh powder snow, not to cold and as you can see in the photo album no shortage of white stuff. I was supposed to be working at my desk getting caught up on all of the off season stuff.

I decided to give myself an afternoon off to go on my own winter exploration trip and take a few pictures. To see the photos visit my online photo album. I strapped on (actually more like slid into) my old wood and leather snowshoes and started off on a trip around the yard and through the woodlot. There have been many animals out making tracks today and the fresh snow was perfect to see where they had been.

A great afternoon out. Back at my desk in a few hours, just the right amount of time out, long enough to feel tired but not cold and exhausted. If you would like to arrange your own winter exploration adventure you can read about the details here.
