What a relief!

I have finished working with the legislative committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife for this year. After the long winter sitting in one meeting after another it was a pleasure to walk out of the door this afternoon and know that my job now turns into a series of fishing and canoe trips for the foreseeable future; my reward for all of that indoor effort. Just in time, today was a beautiful warm sunny day with almost no wind. The amazing part is that there are very few black flies. They must be waiting for this weekend when I will be guiding bass fishermen on the ponds. With any luck at all we’ll have weather just like this. After all of the rain and cold the grass is really growing like crazy, to quote someone I talked with this weekend “it grew 6 inches after church on Sunday” mowing the lawn will become part of my new routine now that I don’t have to drive to Augusta. I am certain that the stripers have arrived in the Saint George River and will make every effort to get down there before too long to greet them.  The smallmouth bass are on the spawning beds in a few of the ponds I have checked and the water temperature is warming very quickly so one of the most enjoyable times of the year to cast for bass here in full force.Just like the weather my bookings have taken a very positive turn in fact June is starting to look very busy and July is shaping up pretty nicely as well.
