Spent the last days of September fishing in the North Maine Woods for native brook trout. The trout are getting ready to spawn and are in beautiful fall colors. We had one male fish with a kype (hooked jaw) and caught good numbers of fish.
It is quite the visual with the leaves in full color and the trout as pretty as they can be. The next few weeks are the best part of the entire year. In fact a time I look forward to all year long. Every trip whether fishing, canoeing or upland bird hunting is a treat. October does not last long enough for me!
