I was working in the office by 4AM this morning so after Argy and I returned from our walk I figured that it was time for a little R&R. I launched the Lund Alaskan on Seven Tree Pond and fished up in to Round Pond. Needless to say the day was spectacular and the pickerel panic is on! I caught a bunch of pickerel and bass most on a popper presented on my fly rod.

Early Morning Mackerel Mayhem!

I have been down to the mouth of the Saint George several times over the last couple of weeks with clients and almost every time the fishing has been Mackeral are abundant this summeroutstanding. We have caught a bunch of fish (the biggest a couple of pounds) that are very sporty on light tackle. The best part is the scenery, we are fishing among the islands off of the coast and most mornings the air is still.

Stripers!

After hearing excellent reports on striper fishing from the Kennebec and further south, I got a positive report from the Saint George. Argy and I took a few hours on a perfect afternoon with full sun, a stiff west wind and pleasant temperatures to check into it. We tried the likely spots all the way down to Maple Juice Cove on the western shore.
