Variety

I am frequently reminded of the variety of outdoor recreation that is available in Maine. Once in a while though I am struck by the variety offered in the region of the state that I call home. In the last week I have fished for native wild brook trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and stripers in the saltwater. Managed to catch a few of each except stripers that I would appear have not arrived yet. Done part of my favorite eagle watching trip and seen a dozen or so. Along with ospreys and a seal or two.

All of that within a very short distance in the scheme of things. Partly due to accumulated knowledge from a long career as a guide (I knew there must be a good trout behind that log) and partly due to the abundance of resources.

The apple trees are in full bloom and spring is about to fade into summer with the unofficial season start here next weekend. I’m looking forward to sharing all of it with folks from around the world.
