We hit our first 40-degree temperatures last week, a welcome change after a long winter! Honestly, it felt amazing to work in the garage with just a light jacket. While we know there's likely more cold (-2 here yesterday) and maybe even snow ahead, it definitely feels like we've turned a corner and are heading towards spring. The days are noticeably longer, and the sun is climbing higher in the sky each morning. Our solar installation is now generating most of our electric use each sunny day.
The birds are the first to celebrate! This morning, bluebirds were singing their hearts out at the end of our driveway, and the mockingbird at Thomaston Harbor was putting on quite a show while I grabbed coffee with the retired fishermen.
My ice fishing season has officially wrapped up for another year, and now we're all patiently waiting for the ice to melt. It'll probably be a slow, muddy process, as usual, but before we know it, I'll be launching the Lund and casting a line again. Can't wait!
