Raining again!

So far September is a continuation of the wet summer we have had with a hurricane on the horizon. It rained enough overnight that when a raised the Lund off of the hitch on the 4 runner this morning. The bilge pump went on! Took me a minute to figure out what was going on. I was also surprised that the pump ran for several minutes even though the drain plug had been out since I left Thomaston Harbor late yesterday afternoon.

For the first time since May I have a morning at my desk. Nice to get caught up on some of the things that can be put off during the busiest part of the season, still it feels a little odd to not be driving off to some boat launch. I’ll adjust and have a meeting and a blood donation planned later today.

This is the beginning of the slow down to winter for me. Not to say that my calendar is empty but rather the taper off has begun. In fact depending on the track of the hurricane mentioned above I may have a few empty days over the coming weekend. Given that this is the best season of the year I am looking forward to a slower pace and having some time to just go fishing! Well after the storm passes anyway.
