Late season snowstorm on the horizon

Looking at the forecast and the various weather maps, it appears we are likely to experience a significant snowstorm this week. Despite having only a little snow all winter, it seems last season has decided that it is not done with us even if it is well into spring. The downside for me is that it's time to get back out on the water - I had the boat uncovered last week, but decided to put the cover back on as the weather looked like it would get cold again. Little did I know real winter was going reappear.

After having to shovel only a little snow all winter, it looks like I’ll be shoveling on Thursday and perhaps even Friday. The big question on everyone's mind is how much snow will be around for the eclipse on Monday. Regardless, it's sure to be an interesting weather event.

Even with the current forecast, I expect that sometime in the next week or 10 days, we'll start to see those warmer spring days. Days that are typically warmest in the late morning, before the sea breeze comes up in the afternoon and cools things off to the ocean temperature (mid 40’s at the moment).

The grass has started to look a little green, the crocuses are blooming, and the daffodils might just bloom before the snowstorm hits. So here is hope even with this anticipated setback. Hang in there spring really is coming.
