I checked this morning and I will guide trip number 100 for the season in the next few days. I normally guide between 130 and 150 trips in a season that makes me almost 2/3 through this season. It is always fun to see many clients return and to watch their families grow up. At this point many of my trips are with folks who I already know that makes the season much more fun.
I still love introducing someone to fishing and helping them be successful. Many on
family fishing trips where the quarry is quite willing. A young man kept careful track last Saturday and reported that he had caught 42 fish on his morning family fishing trip.
Or learning a new skill like
casting a fly line, a trip that was very popular this summer. Many other trips also produce firsts such as first striper or biggest fish that person they have ever caught.
At the end of the day though it is really about showing someone a pretty part of the world and hopefully offering some insight into their part in it and the need to treat it with respect.
This season is different because I will not be travelling north to guide at Libby Camps in October which will make about 3 weeks available for fishing trips in the most beautiful part of the year. I have never really had openings in October so I am looking forward to being on the water then. Some of those dates have already been reserved but there are still a good number of dates available.
I hope to see you all again before the snow files in late November.
Best regards,
